Top Employee Benefit Priorities

For the third consecutive year Certified Employee Benefit Specialists (CEBS) were asked to identify their top six benefit priorities for the coming year. Of the 426 respondents, 38 percent identified health care reform as their top priority. The remaining top five priorities in order of importance were as follows:

  • developing investment education programs and materials (33.3 percent);
  • improving quality of communications (26.3 percent);
  • evaluating/implementing Internet/intranet applications (25.8 percent);
  • and, tied for sixth place, evaluating alternative health plans and increasing 401 (k) participation (23.2 percent).
